Krayden partnered with a company specializing in boats. The customer was looking for a material that could assist in releasing 2 part A-B cast in place rigid urethane foam from aluminum molds.
What is the application? | Releasing 2 part A-B cast in place ridged urethane foam from aluminum molds. Some as large as 20′ X 5′ x 4′ (foot) |
What issues was the end-user having? | The customer was having buildup issues, difficulty releasing parts, and the entire process was very time consuming applying the paste wax to every part. |
What material was used to solve the issue? | Frekote FMS-100 sealer with Frekote 770-NC Semi-Permanent Release. |
Why did this material work better than other materials? | Good part detail, it didn’t build up on the mold surface and transfer to the part. Easy application by spraying on the 770-NC release agent. Multiple release, didn’t have to apply after every part. Better mold utilization, can build more parts between cycling and cleaning the mold. 2 part ridged urethanes are difficult to release. |
