Plexus MA320 Methacrylate Adhesive for Structural Bonding

Designed for structural bonding of metal, composite, and thermoplastic assemblies, Plexus MA320 is a methacrylate adhesive that serves as an ideal selection for composite bonding applications. Due to its need for virtually no surface preparation, this adhesive is well suited for use in the engineering construction, marine, and transportation industries. After it is combined at a 10:1 ratio, Plexus MA320 offers an 8 to 12-minute window of working time, and within 25 to 30 minutes will achieve 75% ultimate strength. Supplied in ready to use cartridges, this adhesive is available in black, white, or off-white.

Offered in 200-litre drums or 20-litre pails and dispensed as a non-sagging gel, Plexus MA320 Structural Adhesive provides superior toughness at temperatures below -17°C. The fixture time³ for this adhesive is 25-30 minutes, and the operating temperature is -55°C to 121°C. Gap filling⁷ for Plexus MA320 Structural Adhesive is 1mm to 8mm, the mixed density is 0.94 g/cc, and the flash point is 9°C. This material displays excellent resistance to salt solutions, as well as acids and bases (3-10 pH), but is susceptible to strong acids and bases, polar solvents, and hydrocarbons (gasoline and diesel fuel included).

Uncured and at room temperature, the viscosity of Plexus MA320 Methacrylate Adhesive is 100,000 – 125,000 cP, and of the activator is 40,000 – 60,000 cP. The density of the adhesive is 0.92 g/cc, and of the activator is 1.04, and 1.72 g/cc. The mix ratio by volume of the adhesive is 10, and of the activator is 1. The mix ratio by weight of the Plexus MA320 Structural Adhesive is 8.9, and of the activator is 1. This adhesive is also available in black, and the mix ratio by weight with the 320 white activator is 5: 4: 1. Plexus MA320 Characteristics:

While handling Plexus MA320, safety glasses and gloves should be worn in order to avoid eye and skin contact. If contact is made to the skin, immediately wash with soap and water. This product is flammable and is made with Methacrylate Ester. Medical attention should be sought if this product makes contact with the eyes. To prevent volatile gasses, steam, and entrapped air while mixing Plexus MA320, mix only the amount of material required for use. Gap thickness should also be confined to no more than 8mm.
