Molykote EM-30L Lubricating Grease Designed for Plastic Components
Molykote EM-30L is a lubricating grease designed for plastic substrates. It can be used for plastic to plastic contact, metal to metal contact and plastic to metal contact. The advance product offers low seepage, so it can be used in places that cleanliness is required. It offers a long service temperature and it does not contain any silicone preventing problems with contact point failures. The main applications that this grease is suitable for includes automobiles, electrical appliances, precision equipment, audio equipment and office equipment that have plastic parts.
Appearance of Molykote EM-30L grease is white and the base oil viscosity at 40°C is 90 mm²/s. Penetration (worked 60 times) is 325 and the consistency is NLGI Class 1. Service temperature is between -45 to 150°C. Density of the innovative grease is 0.91 g/cm³ and the drop point is at 195°C. Molykote EM-30L evaporation at 99°C in 100 hours is approximately 0.4% and bleed at 100°C in 24 hours is 5.0%. Molykote EM-30L can be applied by using a spatula, brush or automatic lubrication device. The product may irritate the skin or eyes. It is strongly recommended to wear protective safety equipment when handling. The products oxidation resistance at 99°C for 100 hours is 0.02 MPa and copper corrosion at 100°C in 24 hours is 1A. The starting torque in a low temperature torque test (-40°C) is 110 mNm and the running torque is 51 mNm per the American Society for Testing and Materials.

When the product is stored in a cool and dark location in its original container t the usable life will be 36 months from the date of production. Molykote EM-30L plastic grease is available in 1kg and 16kg pails. Limitations of the grease include medical or pharmaceutical uses because it has not been tested nor deemed suitable to be used in those industries. At high temperatures of 250°C, the breakdown of the fluorinated polymer can cause the release of small amounts of toxic gas. Ensure adequate ventilation when applying.
