Molykote 41 is a silicone grease for very high temperature applications at low speeds
Molykote 41 is a silicone grease that is ideal for oven conveyers, molten salt evacuation pumps, kin dollies, steam turbine regulator links, knife-edge power breakers and much more. The advance material can be used at temperatures higher than those of normal silicone greases. It will not melt at extreme temperatures, provides superior thermal stability as well as excellent oxidation resistance. The grease is composed of silicone oil, carbon black and a corrosion inhibitor. It is formulated for high temperature applications including industrial ovens, boilers, stream turbine controls, power insulator balls, socket connections and electronic power disconnect switches.
Molykote 41 Silicone Grease is black in appearance and has a base oil viscosity of 316 mm²/s at 25°C. It has a NLGI class of 2 and the service temperature ranges between -20 to 290°C. The innovative grease has a density of 1.1 g/cm³. Bleed is 4% in 24 hours at 150°C per MIL S 8660. At 150°C in 24 hours, the specialty grease will evaporate approximately 1%. Water washout for an hour at 38°C is 0.5%. Penetration when worked 60 times is 260 to 300 mm/10. This material is well suited for aerospace, automotive, imaging and general industrial applications.

Maximum Dn value is 75,000 mm/ minute and four ball weld load (1500rpm/1minute) is 1500. Apply Molykote 41 Grease to clean surfaces. The product can be applied by a brush, spatula or lubricating devices. Do not use on painted surfaces or on steel bearing under high loads. Reading and understanding the Molykote 41 MSDS before handling is strongly recommended. The grease will have a shelf life of 1080 days from production when it is stored in its original container in a cool, dark place. This product may irritate the eyes and skin so it is strongly recommended to wear safety equipment. When it does come in contact with skin or eyes, rinse with water immediately and seek medical care.
