LORD E-301AD is a low viscosity, single component encapsulation material. This innovative material offers high voltage insulation, excellent heat transfer and dimensional stability over a wide temperature range. It provides low surface tension and the compound also offers good wetting properties. It has high fluidity and is recommended for potting intricate circuitry. The encapsulant has shown good resistance to cracking under severe thermal cycling. Some of the typical applications this material is well suited for includes thick film hybrid devices, delay lines, densely packaged power supplies, oscillators, operational amplifiers, binary devices, transformers and semiconductors.
The filler used in LORD E-301ADmay settle during storage when received, it is strongly recommended to stir the material in the shipping container prior to use. The product will have a visual color of black and the specific gravity will be 1.75 to 2.00 at 25 degrees Celsius. Viscosity will be up to 7,300 to 13,400 at 25 degrees Celsius and the tensile strength is 9,890 psi at the same temperature. LORD E-301AD has a continuous service temperature between -65 to 155 degrees Celsius and can be intermittently exposed to temperatures as low as -100 degrees Celsius and as high as 175 degrees Celsius.
LORD E-301AD is normally used with a hardener offered by LORD. These hardeners include Circalok 6091B, Circalok 6252, LORD E-62S and LORD HT-75. The Dielectric strength of this material is 500 volts/mil and the Dielectric constant is 5.6 100KC at room temperature. Before handling and applying, it is strongly recommended to understand the LORD E-301 MSDS. This product has a shelf life of 12 months from date of shipment when it is stored in its unopened containers. The material must be stirred before using to ensure the filler is fully mixed into the product. Epoxy resins and hardeners may cause eye and skin irritants and some may even be corrosive to the skin and eyes.
