Lord 7550 is a urethane adhesive that resists weathering, sunlight, humidity, and salt spray. This advanced adhesive is non-flammable, environmentally friendly and chemically resistant. It was specifically formulated to bond polycarbonate, ABS, Lexan and a variety of other plastic materials. It is also capable of bonding many primed metals.
LORD 7550 Urethane Adhesive is a two component, self-leveling material that is excellent for bonding substrates with tight tolerances. Once it is cured, the material is solvent resistant. Most cleaning solvents and painting will not affect the bonding strength of this urethane adhesive. When applying LORD 7550 Urethane Adhesive, it is important to clear all surfaces of dirt, grease and all other contaminates to ensure a strong bond. If using this product on metals it is recommended to grit blast then solvent wash the substrate. After the cleaning process, metal should be primed for optimum performance. Mixing of the resin and curing agent should be done at a 1:1 ratio by volume. The correct volumetric ratio will be automatically dispensed using the handheld cartridges. Lord 7550 Urethane Adhesive will fully cure in approximately 72 hours at room temperature. Working time will be 3 to 5 minutes at a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and it has a purge time of 2-3 minutes at the same temperature. Time to handling strength is approximately 60 minutes at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The appearance of LORD 7550 resin and the curative agent is a clear liquid.
Understanding the proper application methods and the handling precaution of using this material is extremely important. Once the adhesive is cured, heating it up to 149 degrees Celsius will allow the material to soften up making the cleaning process easier. It is strongly recommended to clean the tools prior to the curing of the adhesive with organic solvents. If LORD 7550 is stored in its original, unopened container in a dry location at temperatures between 21-27 degrees Celsius, the shelf life will be six months from the date of shipment. After the material is opened, it is important to protect the adhesive from excessive exposure to moisture. This product is intended for commercial and industrial use only.
