Loctite EA 9460 is a two component, thixotropic, modified epoxy adhesive formulated for ease of use as well for excellent balance properties. This advance adhesive will give a very high sheer strength coupled with excellent peel strength. The primary curing is done in room temperature immediately after mixing and the secondary process is heat cure. The flexibility of the cured adhesive makes it well suited to bond dissimilar substrates. Recommended substrates include thermoplastics, metals, thermoset laminates such as sheet molding compound without the use of laminates.

Loctite Hysol 9460 is a smooth paste that is easy to mix. It has an extended working life and quick response to heat. The innovative material is resistant to automotive fluids as well as impact and fatigue resistant. Specific gravity of the mixed material at 25°C is 1.33. Weight per gallon is 11.1 and the pot life at room temperature is 40 to 65 minutes. Loctite EA 9460 viscosity at 25°C is 150,000 to 250,000 cP. Peak exotherm temperature is 93°C. Mix ratio is 1 to 1 of resin to hardener. Resin is white and the hardener is black, when the proper ratio is mixed together the color of the adhesive will be gray. Mixing less than 4,500 grams of material is recommended to reduce the likelihood of exothermic reaction or excessive heat buildup. Bonding surfaces need to be clean, dry and free of contamination for the best results. Complete cure will be obtained after 72 hours at room temperature. Hysol 9460 will take approximately 6 to 8 hours when heat cured at a maximum temperature of 149°C. After 24 hours of cure, 90% if full cure properties are attained at room temperature.
Before handling, reading and understanding the Loctite EA 9460 MSDS is strongly recommended. Store product in unopened container in a dry locating. Optimal storage temperature is between 8° to 21°C. Anything above or below the stated amount could affect the properties for the product. Materials used should not be returned to the container because it may be contaminated during cure.
