Loctite EA 9394 is a two component structural paste adhesive with good gap filling capabilities. Visually part A is gray and part B is black. Once mixed together properly, the product is gray in appearance. The viscosity of the mixed material at 77 degrees Celsius is 1600 poised and the density is approximately 1.36 g/ml. It is recommended to mix the products just prior to application. The mix ratio is 100 by weight of part A to 17 by weight of part B. A 450 gram mass will have a pot life of 90 minutes at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.
This product can be cured in 3 to 5 days at a temperature of 25 degree Celsius to achieve normal performance. Accelerated cure up to a temperature of 93 degrees Celsius for small masses can be an alternative. A complete cure of the material will take approximately 1 hour at a temperature of 66 degrees Celsius. It is highly recommended to not mix quantities greater than 450 grams because dangerous heat buildup will begin causing uncontrolled decomposition. Handling strength for the Loctite EA 9394 will occur in 24 hours, allowing the removal of pressure or support tools used.
The bond strength of Loctite 9394 has been tested when it was exposed to water, isopropyl alcohol, hydraulic oil and JP-4 fuel at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius for 7 days. The psi stays in a range of 4300 to 4000 and the MPa stays in a range of 27 to 30. Understanding the proper handling and safety precautions of Loctite EA 9394 is extremely important. The shelf life of both part A and B is approximately one year if the material is in its original tightly sealed container stored at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The material will normally be shipped at ambient conditions which will not alter Loctite’s standard warranty. If more information is required on the safe handling of this material, use the Loctite EA 9394 MSDS.
