Loctite EA 9392 Aero is an epoxy adhesive that cures at room temperature and has excellent shear strength at high temperatures. The advance product exhibits excellent toughness and yields durable bonds over a wide temperature range. It is thixotropic with good gap filling and potting characteristics. This product was formulary known as Hysol EA 9392.
Loctite EA 9392 Part A is gray and Part B is amber in color, once the two components are properly mixed together the color is gray. Viscosity of Part A is 4,200 poise and viscosity of Part B is 6,600 poise at 77°F. Density of both components mixed together is 1.29 g/ml and compressive strength at 2% off-set is 9,300 psi. Mixing the two components should be completed just before application to the substrates that will be bonded. The components temperature is not critical but should be as close to room temperature as possible. Mix ratio is 100 by weight of Part A to 32 by weight of Part B. Pot life of 100 g mass is 75 minutes at 77°F.
Mixing quantities larger than 450 grams of Loctite EA 9392 Aero is dangerous because heat buildup may take place causing uncontrolled decomposition of the adhesive. Using small amounts of material will assist in heat buildup. Toxic fumes can occur so it is strongly recommended to wear protective equipment and to apply in a well ventilated area. The adhesive can be cured for 5 to 7 days at 25°C. If accelerated cure is needed, small masses can be heated up to 200°F. One hour at 180°F will give the product a complete cure. Loctite EA 9392 has a service temperature up to 350° F per test method ASTM D1002.
Do not handle or use this product until the Loctite EA 9392 Aero MSDS has been read and fully understood. Shelf life of both components will be one year when it is stored in its original tightly sealed containers at room temperature. Both Part A and B causes eye and skin irritation or allergic dermatitis. Loctite EA 9392 contains amines.
