Loctite 9360 is an epoxy paste adhesive, that is two component, high peel strength at room temperature with tensile lap shear strength at 107 to 121 degrees Celsius. This advanced material is low slump and will cure at room temperature. It provides excellent static stress durability and the service temperature is 107 degrees Celsius. This two component system is formulated as a structural adhesive used in the aerospace industry.
Loctite EA 9360 Part A is an off white color and Part B will be blue. Once the two components are mixed together the viscosity will be 1200 Poise at 77 degrees Celsius. The density of Loctite 9360 mixed is 1.14 g/ml. The mixing ratio will be 100 Part A by weight to 43 Part B by weight. It is important to understand that volume measurement is not recommended for structural applications unless special precautions are taken to assure proper ratios. When mixing, it is recommended to have the material at 25 degrees Celsius but it is not necessary. Mixing of the two components needs to be done just prior to application of the parts being bonded.
A 200 gram mass of Loctite 9360 will have a pot life of 50 minutes at room temperature. Heat buildup will occur when mixing the two components together. Quantities more than 450 grams should not be mixed together because the heat buildup can occur causing uncontrolled decomposition. When applying, surfaces that will be bonded need to be clean and dry. Handling strength will occur within 24 hours at room temperature. A full cure to achieve normal performance will take approximately 5 to 7 days at 25 degrees Celsius. If accelerated cure is needed, this adhesive is capable of having small masses heated up to 93 degrees Celsius.
Handling of this material should not be done until all the information has been read and understood on the Loctite EA9360 MSDS. The shelf life of both Part A and Part B is 1 year when stored at 4 degrees Celsius in its unopened containers. Shelf life will be reduced to 6 months if it is stored at room temperature. This material may cause skin and eye irritation or allergic dermatitis. It is an epoxy based material, handling it should be done in a well-ventilated area to avoid breathing in any toxic vapors.
