Loctite EA 9313 Aero
Loctite EA 9313 Aero, Formerly Hysol EA 9313 is a low viscosity, room temperature cure epoxy paste adhesive with excellent low temperature properties.
Loctite EA 9313 Aero is a two component, room temperature cure, low viscosity epoxy paste adhesive. Some of the key features of this material include high peel strength, flexible bondlines and excellent low temperature properties. It can also be used as a laminating resin and for potting small assemblies. The low viscosity of this advance mixed systems allows it to be injected into pre-assembled parts. The product was formerly known as Hysol EA 9313.
Part A is off-white in color and Part B is red, once both components are thoroughly mixed together the color will be pink. Viscosity of Loctite EA 9313 is 6-15 poise at 77° C. Density will be approximately 1.09 g/ml (9.1lbs/gallon). One of the components in Loctite EA 9313 Aero is temperature sensitive which results in the crystallization of Part A when it is stored at 4°C or below. Material can be warmed and will melt back into solution. Mix ratio is 100 of Part A by weight to 25 of Part B by weight.
200 gram mass of product will have a pot life of 60 minutes at room temperature per method ASTM D 2471 in water bath. Peak exotherm of a 250 gram mass of product will be achieved at 188° C at 70 minutes. Combining more than 450 grams of Loctite EA 9313 Aero may cause heat buildup when mixing and uncontrolled decomposition of the mixed adhesive. This material needs to be mixed together in a well-ventilated area because toxic fumes can occur. Bonding surfaces should be clean and dry before applying. Handling strength for this epoxy will occur in 8 hours at room temperature.
Loctite EA 9313 may be cured for 5 days at room temperature to attain normal performance. At 93°C, curing will occur in 5 minutes and at 60°C it will take 30 minutes. It is strongly recommended to read and understand the Henkel Loctite EA 9313 Aero MSDS before using. This product will have a shelf life of on year when it is stored in its tightly sealed container at room temperature. It is very important to remove excess adhesive from the work area and application equipment before it hardens. Denatured alcohol and many common industrial solvents are suitable for removing uncured adhesive. Dispose of spent remover and pain residue per local, state and regional regulations. HANDLING
Mixing – This product requires mixing two components together just prior to application to the parts to be
bonded. Complete mixing is necessary. The temperature of the separate components prior to mixing is not
critical, but should be close to room temperature (77°F/25°C).
