Loctite 3526 Acrylic Adhesive:
Loctite AA 3526 is a single component, medium viscosity, UV cure, modified acrylic used for bonding. The innovative product cures rapidly to form a transparent, flexible bond and it offers excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates including glass, many plastics and most metals. Appearance of the cured material is transparent, pale straw to amber liquid and it has a secondary cure system of heat which permits cure of product in shadowed areas.
Loctite 3526 has a specific gravity of 1.06 at 25°C and viscosity is 11,000 to 24,000 cP. The product can be cured by UV and or visible light radiation or heat. If heat cured, bond area should be heated to 121°C and maintained at that temperature for 15 minutes. Fixture time is approximately 0.1N/mm². Using a Black light Zeta 7500 light source, 6mW/cm² measured at 365 NM is ≤5. Loctite 3526 is light sensitive, UV light and artificial light should be kept at a minimum.
Loctite AA 3526 Product Description:
- Acrylic
- Transparent, pale straw to amber liquid
- Positive under UV lights
- One component
- Medium viscosity
- UV visible light cure
- Secondary cure is heat
- Used for bonding.
For the best performance, bond materials need to be cleaned from any contamination and grease. Cure rate is dependent on lamp intensity, distance from the light source, depth of cure needed or bondline gap. Full cure is estimated to be four to five times the fixture time. Cooling should be provided for temperature sensitive substrates such as thermoplastics. Loctite AA 3526 needs to cool before subjected to any service load. Excess uncured adhesive can be wiped away with organic solvents such as acetone.
