Buy Loctite 9390
Loctite 9390 is a two-component, low viscosity, good wetting epoxy adhesive formulated for composite repair. This advanced adhesive is BMS 8-301 qualified, high shear moldulus and has excellent hot/wet properties making it well suited as a wet lay-up resin for glass graphite composite repairs. The material will cure at 93 degrees Celsius in 220 minutes, 150 minutes at 121 degrees Celsius and 130 minutes at 149 degrees Celsius. Loctite 9390 will normally be shipped at ambient conditions.
Loctite EA 9390 mixed will have a viscosity of 100 poise at 77 degrees Celsius. Part A is a light beige color and Part B is blue, once thoroughly mixed together it becomes violet in color. The density of this innovative material is 1.15 g/ml and Broomfield, HBT is Spdl 3 @1.05 rad/s. When Part B is stored at 4 degrees Celsius, crystallization may occur. To remove crystallization, it is recommended to slowly warm the material to 66 degrees Celsius while stirring. Mix ratio of this adhesive is 100 of Part A by weight to 56 of Part B by weight. The temperature prior to mixing needs to be near 25 degrees Celsius for best results. A 250 gram mass of Loctite 9390 will have a pot life of two hours at 25 degrees Celsius.
It is dangerous to mix amounts greater than 250 grams due to hazardous heat accumulation that can occur causing uncontrolled decomposition of the mixed adhesive. Toxic fumes can buildup, that’s why it is important to mix and apply Loctite EA 9390 aero in a well-ventilated area. Bonding surfaces are recommended to be clean of all dust, dirt and debris. Cured bondline thickness may range from .08 to .15 mm. Loctite EA 9390 will retain 1000 psi/6.9 MPa in temperatures up to 177 degrees Celsius per ASTM D1002.
Precautionary information such as the proper way to handle the material, how to dispose, shelf life and general information can be found on the Loctite EA 9390 MSDS. Shelf life of part B at temperatures of 4, 25 and 32 degrees Celsius will be 1 year. Shelf life of Part A will be 1 year at 4 degrees Celsius, 6 months if stored at 25 degrees Celsius and 2 months at 32 degrees Celsius. Empty containers will retain product residue and vapors, it is strongly recommended to dispose per local, state and regional regulations. Loctite 9390 may cause skin and eye irritation because it contains epoxy.
