Buy Loctite 635
Loctite 635 is a high strength, medium viscosity, green opaque liquid material uncured, designed for bonding of cylindrical fitting parts. This high quality retaining material has been tested to the lot requirements of military specification Mil-R-46082B, providing a high strength bonding capability on a variety of substrates. Loctite 635 Retaining Compound is positive under UV lights.
Loctite 635 retaining compound is anaerobic cure with an activator as a secondary cure possibility. This material is a one component, dimethacrylate ester chemical. It will cure when it is confined in areas between closely fitting metal surfaces with the absence of air preventing leakage and loosening from vibration and shock. The main applications of Loctite 635 include shafts to rotors in subfractional and fractional horsepower motors, augment press fits, sleeves and lock bushings in housings on shafts. The cure speed of this retaining compound is dependent on the temperature and the type of substrate used. The longer the cure time or adding heat will increase the strength of Loctite 635. It has a resistance to a variety of solvents including motor oil, brake fluid, ethanol, acetone and unleaded gasoline.
This material is not formulated to be used on plastics, in particular thermoplastic material where stress cracking is possible. It is important to understand and confirm the capability of the product with different substrates. Loctite 635 should not be used in oxygen systems and it should not be used as a sealant for chlorine or other oxidizing materials. The product should be stored in its unopened container in a dry location. The ideal storage temperature is between 8 to 21 degrees Celsius. Storing the material below 8 degrees or about 21 degrees can affect the properties adversely. Once the material is removed from the container it is important to not return the product back into the container because it may be contaminated during the application process. The cured product can be broken down and removed with the combination of soaking the substrate in Loctite solvent and using a wire brush to scrub the retaining compound away. For more information regarding the safe use of this material, refer to the Loctite 635 MSDS.
