The rate of cure will depend on the bondline gap, ambient relative humidity, and the type of substrate used. Loctite 4902 Cyanoacrylate Adhesive uncured will have a specific gravity of 1.03 at 25 degrees and a flash point between 80-93 degrees Celsius. The physical state of the product is a liquid that is clear. Vapor pressure is < 0.2 mm hg and the boiling point range is >149 degrees Celsius. Auto-ignition temperature is 485 degrees Celsius and the vapor density of this material is approximately 3. Key substrates Loctite 4902 is well suited for includes plastics, rubber and metals.
Bond areas need to completely clean and free from dust, dirt or any grease. Cleaning can be done by using a Loctite cleaning solvent. Bonding capabilities can be improved on low energy plastic surfaces by using a primer with the adhesive. Apply adhesive on one of the substrates surfaces and assemble the parts together within minutes. Substrates need to be fixed together until adhesive has fixtured. Full strength will typically be in 24 to 72 hours after assembly. Loctite 4902 works best in thin bond gaps (0.05MM/2 mil).
