Epocast 1619 is a low density, pourable, room temperature cure, self-extinguishing, epoxy syntactic compound formulated for potting fasteners in honeycomb structures. This advanced material is a two part system with an off-white colored resin and an amber colored hardener. Huntsman Epocast 1619 is qualified to BMS 5-28, Type 19. The innovative material is resistant to water, fungus and most aircraft fluids. This high quality light weight material can be extruded through a 3mm nozzle or simply poured onto the substrates.

The curing process of this material is 24 hours at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Or it is possible to gel at room temperature plus five hours at a temperature of 52 degrees Celsius. The Mix ratio of Epocast A/B is 100 parts by weight of Epocast 1619-A Resin to 25 parts by weight of Epocast 1619-B Hardener. It is suggested to mix together thoroughly for several minutes until the epoxy syntactic turns an off-white color assuring a complete blend of the resin and hardener.  Epocast 1619 has a viscosity of 300 at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius using the test method of ASTM-D-2196.

When using Huntsman Epocast 1619, it is extremely important to understand the dangers and the proper application methods to avoid health hazards. Before using the epoxy, it is strongly recommended to read the Epocast 1619 A/B MSDS. The Shelf life of Huntsman Epocast 1619 is 6 months from the date the product is shipped from Huntsamn. Syntactic Epoxies are recommended to be stored in their original containers in a dry place at temperatures between 16-32 degrees Celsius. After used, store the material back in its container and tightly reseal. When mixing the two components together, the temperature should be around 18 degrees Celsius for the best possible results. Under these conditions, Huntsman hardeners and resins will be useable for the length of 6 months. It is recommended to store frozen materials at a temperature of -18 degrees Celsius or colder. Thaw the material out at room temperature prior to mixing.
