For coating applications that require quick thermal curing, HumiSeal 1C51 is ideal. Perfect for spraying and dipping, this single component, low viscosity coating demonstrates great flexibility. HumiSeal 1C51 is VOC-free, has a long pot life, and is silicone based. This conformal coating contains an optical brightener that improves the ability to inspect the material under a black light. This product is qualified to MIL-I-46058C, is recognized under UL File Number E105698, and is compliant with RoHS Directive and IPS-CC-830.
The density of HumiSeal 1C51 Conformal Coating is 0.99 ± 0.01 g/cm³, and the Min. Solids content is 98% by weight per Fed-Std-141, Meth. 4044. The viscosity of this material is 630 ± 150 centipoises per Fed-Std-141, Meth. 4287, and its VOC is 0 grams/litre. The recommended coating thickness is 50 – 200 microns, and the recommended curing conditions are 10 – 15 minutes at 105 -130ºC. The time required for HumiSeal 1C51 Conformal Coating to reach optimum properties is 15 minutes, and the recommended stripper for this coating is HumiSeal Stripper 1090. The shelf life for this product is 12 months from the date of manufacture when kept at the recommended conditions, and its thermal shock is -65°C to 200°C (50 cycles per MIL-I-46058C).
The glass transition temperature – DSC for HumiSeal 1C51 Silicone Conformal Coating is < -65ºC, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is 296 ppm/ °C. This coating’s flammability is V-0 per UL 94, and it passes on fungus resistance per ASTM 621. If dirt, grease, moisture, wax, flux residues or any other contaminants exist underneath the coating, problems could occur and assembly failures could take place. It is extremely important to ensure the substrate is clean before applying HumiSeal 1C51 Silicone Conformal Coating. HumiSeal 1C51 can be dipped, brushed, or sprayed onto a substrate. To guarantee even deposition and a uniform film when dipping, use a controlled rate of immersion and withdrawal (5-15 cm/min). The uniformity of a film brushed onto a substrate will depend on the density of the component as well as the technique of the operator. Conventional equipment can be used for spraying techniques, and the pressure will depend on the type of equipment that is used as well as the operator’s method.
