HumiSeal 1B31 has a VOC of 91 grams per liter and the drying to handle is 25 minutes per Fed-Std-141, Meth. 4287. The recommended thickness of coating for the best results is between 25 to 75 microns. HumiSeal 1B31LOC is self-extinguishing per Mil-I-46058C and it passes fungus resistance per ASTM G21. When applying this acrylic conformal coating, it is highly recommended to have a clean substrate. Surfaces are required to be clear from wax, grease, moisture, flux residues or all other contaminates for the best result of the coating. Any contaminate left under the coating can cause issues leading to assembly failures.
HumiSeal 1B31 LOC can be applied by brushing, dipping, and spraying methods. When dipping, it may be required to reduce the viscosity depending the complexity, density and configuration of components on the assembly. HumiSeal thinner 710 is highly recommended to obtain a uniform film. Conventional spraying equipment is suitable when using the spray method. When spraying HumiSeal 1B31, it is important to do it in a well-ventilated area ensuring the mist is taken away from the worker. Lastly, the brushing method can be applied using a brush with a small amount of HumiSeal Thinner 701. Uniformity of the film is dependent on the operators’ technique and the density of the component.
