For industrial assembly applications requiring instant green strength, Dow Corning HM-2500 is an ideal selection. Using reactive hot-melt silicone sealant technology, this product reduces costs, and improves quality after curing to a durable moisture cured silicone sealant. Due to its nonhazardous composition and by-products, Dow Corning HM-2500 is very safe to handle, and it will cure to most common substrates. This sealant provides excellent clarity and is able to be used with standard hot melt dispensing equipment. Application for this material is user friendly, as it offers long pot life, moderate application temperature, and long open time.

The viscosity of Dow Corning HM-2500 Assembly Sealant is 2100 poise, and its nonvolatile content is >98.5%. The open time of this material is 15 minutes, and its tensile strength at 60 minutes is 350 Psi. Green strength at 15 minutes for Dow Corning HM-2500 Assembly Sealant is 18 Psi, and at 60 minutes is 28 Psi. Cure time, 1/8” bead is 2 days, and the durometer – Shore A is 60 points. Tensile strength for this product is 350 Psi, and its elongation is 1000%. Specific gravity is 1.06 uncured, and this material is water clear in appearance.

The service temperature range for Dow Corning HM-2500 Silicone Sealant is -50 to 300°F (-45 to 150°C), and its heat – fail temperature in shear is 470°F (245°C). This neutral cure sealant made of 100% silicone offers assembly improvements as well as improvements in other production applications. Because it is made of a viscoelastic material, this sealant will soften once it is cured and exposed to high temperatures, but will soon recover its typical properties once it is cooled down.

Typical Properties of Dow Corning HM-2500:

Dow Corning HM-2500 offers a usable life of 12 months starting the day of production when the material is kept at or below 90°F (32°C) in its unopened original containers. Packaging availability for this material includes 50 gram cartridges, 18 kg pails, 27 kg pails, 304 ml cartridges, and 205 kg drums. This product is not intended for use in continuous water immersion, in spaces that are completely restricted from atmospheric moisture during cure, or on any surfaces that might bleed plasticizers, oils, or solvents.
