Henkel Loctite Thermally Conductive Adhesive
Loctite 383 thermally conductive adhesive is a system aimed at connecting heat manufacturing components to heat sinks. It provides outstanding heat dissipation for very thermally delicate components. Loctite 383 thermal adhesive also provides high structural strength to many electronic assemblies. It is typically used for the bonding of transistors, transformers, and other heat generating electronics to printed circuit board, heat sinks and assemblies. REQUEST A QUOTE.

When Loctite 383 output adhesive is stored in an unopened dry location and stored at 2 °C to 8 °C it has a shelf life of 2 years. If the product is stored below 2 °C or greater than 8 °C this can adversely affect product properties and potentially lead to major problems with it. Loctite 383 when used in a potting situation it should be limited to a maximum of 500 volts. Loctite 383’s key feature is its excellent thermal properties.
Henkel Loctite provided a test example of Loctite 383’s strength where they bonded aluminum to epoxy glass lap shears and cured the material for 72 hours using another product in conjunction, Loctite Activator 7387. Both products were applied on one side where it was subjected to thermal cycling of 15°C to 100°C with a ramp time of 30 minutes. It saw no loss in strength after 1,000 hours of total cycle time.
Loctite 383 thermally conductive adhesive has quite a few electrical properties that many would find extremely useful. It has a volume resistance of 5.2×10^11, a surface resistance of 8.6×10^13, and a dielectric constant/dissipation factor of 14.92/0.05 at 100 Hz. It also has a dielectric constant/dissipation factor of 14.26/0.03 at 1 KHz and a dielectric constant/dissipation factor of 12.34 / 0.06 at 1 MHz.
