The story:
Krayden partnered with a company having issues with an exterior bond and seal around the perimeter of wearable electronic IOT device. We solved the challenge by using Bostik Born2Bond Ultra Gel and Primer.
What is the application? | Application was one exterior bond and seal around the perimeter of IOT device and two seals inside the device. |
What issues was the end-user having? | Customer was experiencing a difficult time finding a quick setting strong adhesive to bond two dissimilar materials. A silicone half shell and a polycarbonate top piece would be the protective shell for a wearable IOT device. |
What material was used to solve the issue? | Bostik Born2Bond Ultra Gel and Primer. |
Why did this material work better than other materials? | Bostik Ultra Gel is a Methoxyethyl Cyanoacrylate adhesive. These are stronger and bond to multiple substrates. Much different than your standard instant adhesive. |
Was this material lower cost than other materials? | No. Price was not the primary factor. Performance, packaging and manufacturing process were top 3 concerns. |
Did this material improve the process? | Yes. This material fit their process improvement goals. |
What industry/market was this material used in? | Wearable electronic IOT. |
