Buy Epocast 1645
Epocast 1645 is a two component, flame retardant, ultra-low density, epoxy void and edge filler. This advanced material is designed for edge filling and reinforcing honeycomb structures that are used in interior applications in the aerospace industry. Both A and B are non-sticky, extremely soft paste which can be easily mixed together and cleaned with water after application. It has a service temperature up to 176.6 degrees Celsius and is flame retardant meeting FAR 25.853a requirements. Epocast 1645 will set quickly at room temperature and is sandable shortly after it has been applied. The product offers high strength, low density, and a rapid component assembly.
Epocast 1645 FR A/B has a density between 0.45-0.48 per ASTM D-1622 and a viscosity of a paste at 77 degrees Celsius. A 100g of material will have a gel time of 65 minutes at 77 degrees Celsius. 1645 FR A is brown in color and 1645 FR B is off-white. Once the two materials are mixed together properly, the color will be brown. Mix ratio is 100 parts by weight of Part A resin to 100 parts by weight of Part B hardener. Mix both components together thoroughly for several minutes to ensure complete mixing. Material temperature should be above 18 degrees Celsius before mixing.
It is important to understand that the gel time and work life will vary depending on the mass of the material being mixed. A large quantity of mixed material will reduce the working time producing a significant heat release unless it is spread rapidly. Epocast 1645 will have a full cure within 1 to 3 days at 23 degrees Celsius. 10g of material will be sandable in 4 to 5 hours, 30g in 3-4 hours, 50g 2 to 2.5 hours and 100g 70 to 80 minutes.
Before handling the epoxy syntactic adhesive, it is strongly encouraged to read and understand the Epocast 1645 MSDS. The material needs to be stored in a dry place, in its tightly sealed container between the temperatures of 2 to 40 degrees Celsius. Under these conditions, the product will have a shelf life of 12 months. It meets BMS 5-28 Type 9 requirements.
