Dowsil SE 4445 is a two component, thermally conductive, thermal interface silicone gel used for potting electronic devices
Dow SE 4445 is a two component, gray, thermally conductive, thermal interface wet dispensed polydimethylsiloxane gel. The density of the cured material is 2.36 g/cm3 and the viscosity is 15025 cP, 15025 mPa-sec and 15 pa-sec. The advanced silicone’s penetration is 50 per 1/10 mm and the thermal conductivity is 0.775 btu/hr ft degF or 1.34 W/mK. Dowsil SE4445 has a UL Flammability Classification of 94 V-0.
Dow SE 4445 CV silicone gel is soft and will cure to form a low-modulus, resilient, cushioning, gelled material. The cured product will retain much of the stress relief capability while developing the dimensional stability of an elastomer. It is well suited to be used as a potting material for transformers, power supplies, coils, relays, and other electronic devices. Dow SE4445 CV will cure without exotherm at a constant rate regardless of sectional thickness or degree of confinement. This innovative thermal interface material has a stress relieving capability of silicone with the ability to dissipate heat from the device.

Dow SE 4445 functions as a heat transfer media, durable dielectric insulation and a barrier to protect against contaminants, shock, and vibration over a wide temperature and humidity range. Good heat transfer is dependent on the good interface between the product that produces heat and heat transfer media. The viscosity of the material will gradually increase. Cure rate can be accelerated with heat. The operational temperature range of this product is between -45 to 150°C for long periods of time. Anything above or below the stated temperature ranges may cause the characteristics of the silicone to become more complex requiring additional consideration. Low-temperature performance up to -55°C is possible but needs to be verified for your assembly.
Before handling the material, reading and fully understanding the Dow SE 4445 MSDS is strongly recommended. The shelf life of Dow SE 4445 CV is 6 months when it is stored in its original container at 25°C. Shelf life will be indicated on the product’s label. This product has not been tested nor deemed suitable for pharmaceutical applications. Partially filled containers should be purged with dry air or nitrogen.
