Buy Dow 3-4150
Dowsil 3-4150 is a two part, fast room temperature cure, transparent green dielectric gel. The material is visually blue and yellow, once it is properly mixed together it will turn green. Viscosity of the base is 475 cP and the viscosity of the catalyst is 450 cP. Once the two parts are mixed together the viscosity is 475 cP. This product was designed to form a soft, cure in place, self-healing gel to encapsulate delicate electronic applications.
At 25 degree Celsius, Dowsil 3-4150 Dielectric Gel will have a working time of 7 minutes and a gel time of 28 minutes. Full cure will take approximately 1.5 hours at room temperature to attain at least 90% of its final properties. Dielectric strength is 375 volts/mil and the dielectric constant at 100 Hz is 2.85. This product has excellent electrical characteristics and is well suited to encapsulate electronic components. Volume of resistivity is 7.0E+15 ohm*cm and the dissipation factor at 100 hz is 0.002. The two part gel will offer more flexibility with the option of room or heat cure.
Dow 3-4150 is designed to provide the dimensional stability of an elastomer while retaining the self-healing and stress relief qualities of a liquid. It is designed to protect circuits from the harmful effects of moisture and other contaminates while offering high voltage insulation. The temperature of the material will be operational over a range of -45 to 200 degrees Celsius for long periods of time. Lower or higher temperatures will change the behavior of the dielectric gel and special testing and consideration need to be taken. For low temperatures, thermal cycling to conditions such as -55 degrees Celsius is possible but testing needs to be done to verify.
Understanding the storage, shelf life, limitations and safe handling of the material before use is highly recommended. Information can be found on the Dow 3-4150 MSDS. The product has not been tested or deemed suitable for medical or pharmaceutical applications. Shelf life of Dowsil 3-4150 Dielectric Gel is 12 months when it is stored at 25 degrees Celsius in its original container. Certain curing agents, chemicals, and materials can inhibit the cure of addition cure adhesives.
