Manufactured by Elantas, Elantas 1810 is a flame retardant, two component, low exotherm, long pot life epoxy potting and casting system. It has been formulated to contain a non-abrasive filler to decrease the wear on machine metering and dispensing equipment. This advanced material has been tested by UL to be RoHS compliant and it is also recognized to UL 94V-0. The viscosity of the Part A resin at 25 degrees Celsius is 7,000 CPS and the viscosity of Part B curative is 14,000 cps. Visual color of the resin is black and the curative is tan. Once it is mixed together, the material is black.
Elantas FR-1810 has a mix ratio of 100 by weight of resin to 100 by weight of the curative. Working life of 200 gm mass of the epoxy at 25 degrees Celsius is approximately 80 minutes until it begins to gel. A full cure of the innovative product will occur in 32 to 40 hours. Heat curing at a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius can be used to speed the curing time to 3 to 4 hours. When the resin and curative are mixed together, Elantas 1810 will have an initial viscosity of 3,800 cps at 38 degrees Celsius.
This advanced material is manufactured to provide excellent thermal shock. It passes 5 cycles, which equals an hour in an Olyphant Washer at a high temperature of 130 degrees Celsius and a low temperature of -20 degrees Celsius. Thermal conductivity is .7025 W/mK and the tensile strength is 1325 psi. When Elantas Conapoxy FR-1810 is immerged for 24 hours, the moisture absorption is 0.41 %. Linear shrinkage will be .0006 in/in and the elongation is 22 %. The maximum exotherm of a 225 gm mass is 36 degrees Celsius. The Dielectric strength is 528 vpm and the Dielectric constant at 100 Hz is 4.75 at 25 degrees Celsius.
It is strongly recommended to understand the proper handling and storage of Elantas 1810. The shelf life of this advanced material is 18 months from date of manufacture if it is stored in its unopened, tightly sealed container between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. Elantas Conapoxy FR-1810 A and B contain filler that may settle during storage. It is strongly recommended to thoroughly mix the two components before use. More information in regards to the safe handling of this product can be found on the Elantas 1810 MSDS.
