DOWSIL Sealant Q4-2805 is designed to be injected directly by air gun into grooves of integral fuel tank systems during fabrication or maintenance. The physical nature of the material is putty-like and it is white in color. Relative density at 25°C is 1.37 and extrusion force is 91 kg. This advance fluorosilicone channel sealant withstands immersion in fuels and exposure to fuel vapors in temperatures up to 200°C. |
| Product Information | DOWSIL Q4-2805 has superior sealing characteristics under exposure to oils and fuels. It is a non-curing, good tack adhesion and is easily injected and reinjected. DOWSIL Q4-2805 contains flow-control particles and had excellent flow characteristics that provides faster injection at reduced pressures. Typical Use:
DOWSIL Q4-2805 is primarily used as a groove injection sealants for aircraft fuel tanks. Upon exposure to common fuels, this sealant will swell slightly, tightening the seal during service. This characteristic is especially beneficial when, as a result of aerodynamic heating, expansion of fuel and fuel vapors may cause internal tank pressure. Physical Nature:

DOWSIL Q4-2805 fluorosilicone channel sealant, formally known as Dow Corning Q4-2805, is a one part, oil and fuel resistant compound. It is mostly used as a channel injection sealant for aircraft gas chambers. This sealant is inserted directly by air gun into the channels of vital fuel tank structures during assembly or maintenance. DOWSIL Q4-2805 can also be used in products that need a non-curing sealant.
