BIOACT 280 is a bio-b
ased, semi-aqueous precision cleaner formulated to perform in heated immersion applications. It will quickly dissolve microcrystalline plating, paraffinic wax as well as thermoplastic fixturing waxes. This low toxicity, high precision cleaner removes high melting soils while replacing vapor degreasing and hot oil.
BIOACT 280 Precision Cleaner is non-corrosive and does not contain any hazardous air pollutants or ozone depleting substances. It has a low odor, high flash point and a very high wax load capability up to 40%. This high quality cleaning material is approved by the leading aerospace OEMs, conforming to the stress corrosion of titanium, hydrogen embrittlement and sandwich corrosion. Some of the many soils that BIOACT 280 can remove include coolants, greases, hydraulic fluids, buffing compounds, polishing compounds and much more. This powerful chemical is safe to use with copper alloys, magnesium, steel, nickel, titanium and zinc. It is also compatible with many elastomers and polymeric substrates.
Petroferm’s BIOACT 280 Precision Cleaner is suitable to replace caustic cleaners, petroleum-derived solvents and oils. It is also capable of replacing dewaxing operations using trichloroethylene, methylene chloride, perchloroethylene and n-propyl bromide. BIOACT 280 is suitable for a variety of cleaning equipment including liquid or mechanical agitation and immersion/soak tanks with air. Mechanical agitation is recommended. The typical operating temperature for wax removal is between 88 to 96 degrees Celsius. Average temperatures to remove oils and grease are significantly lower.
BIOACT 280 is available in 36 pound pails and 400 pound drums. It is extremely important that it is stored in its original container above 10 degrees Celsius in a well-ventilated, fire resistant building. The shelf life of the high quality chemical is approximately 36 months from when it is stored in its original, sealed container at room temperature.
