Arathane 5753 A/B is a strong polyurethane casting compound designed to provide excellent electrical insulation for electronic parts. This advanced material exhibits outstanding reversion resistance under high humidity and heat. Once cured, Arathane 5753 meets the NASA outgassing properties critical for outer space and high vacuum environments.
Arathane 5753 A/B is a translucent, amber colored, two component casting system that is recommended for encapsulating trimpots, coils, potentiometers and modules that are stress sensitive or complicated circuitry. This high quality polyurethane has a high thermal shock resistance and has excellent hydrolytic stability offering greater component protection and reliability. The mix ratio is 20 parts by weight of Arathane 5753 A to 100 parts by weight of Arathane 5753 B (LV). It is important to mix the material in a container that is plastic glass or metal. Wooden and paper containers or utensils are not recommended because they contain high moisture. Arathane 5753 pot life at 25 degrees Celsius is approximately 30 minutes for 100 grams. The recommended cure time will be 24 hours at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius or 8 hours at a temperature of 95 degrees Celsius.
It is important to understand the proper applications method and handling precautions when using Arathane 5753 A/B. Because this material is moisture sensitive, it should be stored in a dry location in its original tightly closed container at temperatures between 25 to 40 degrees Celsius. Following the guideline of temperature and storing in a dry location, Arathane 5753 will have a shelf life of approximately 6 months from the date of shipping. Long exposure of part A will cause crystallization. It should be reliquified by heating to a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius. When handling this product, it is important to work in a well- ventilated area using clean equipment for mixing and applying to reduce contamination. Mix the two components together thoroughly and use immediately after mixing. This material should never be below 18 degrees Celsius when mixing. Arathane 5753 A/B is extremely harmful if inhaled and may cause irritation or allergic skin reaction. For more information regarding the safe handling of this material refer to the Arathane 5753 A/B MSDS.
