If you need material that delivers high bond strength, great sag resistance, and all around toughness, Huntsman Araldite AV 8504 Epoxy Adhesive is a great choice. This two component system can be cured at elevated temperatures as well as at room temperature. Once this resin/ hardener is fully cured, it will provide nothing short of resilient bondlines. Huntsman Araldite AV 8504 Epoxy Adhesive offers great adhesion properties to a wide assortment of substrates and is proven very useful in panel pin bonding. Additional features offered by this product are a fast cure rate and a user-friendly mix ratio.
Before the separate components of Huntsman Araldite AV 8504/TDT 177-27 are mixed, the resin is a translucent white color, and the hardener is black. After the system is mixed together, the combination turns completely black. The viscosity of this material is paste-like, and its gel time is 15 minutes at 25°C. The specific gravity of the resin is 1.19, and 1.10 for the hardener. Mixed together, the specific gravity of Huntsman Araldite AV 8504/TDT 177-27 is 1.17. If additional data is required, please see the Araldite AV 8504 Resin / TDT 177-27 Hardener Technical Data Sheet.
In order to process Huntsman Araldite AV 8504 Res/technical-data-sheet/hunts_araldite_av_8504_tdsin / TDT 177-27 Hardener properly, 100 parts by weight/volume of resin should be mixed with 50 parts by weight/volume of hardener. It is important to correctly pretreat the surfaces that are to be joined before applying this adhesive, as the durability and strength of the bond depend on it. In order to first eliminate any traces of dirt, grease, or oil, surfaces should be cleaned with a degreasing agent. To ensure the most durable joint, chemically etching or mechanically abrading the surfaces should take place before bonding.
It is helpful to clean all equipment and tools used with hot soapy water before Huntsman Araldite AV 8504 Epoxy Adhesive residues have time to cure. Removing these residues post cure is time-consuming and tedious. The resin and hardener should be stored separately in a dry location, and storage temperatures should be kept within 2 to 40°C (36 to 104°F.) Containers should remain tightly sealed, and should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
