The innovative Dow Corning TC-4026 is a two component, 1 to 1 mix ratio, thermally conductive dispensable pad. It is suitable as a thermal interface material used for cooling electronic devices in LED lamps luminaries, consumer and automotive applications. Dow Corning TC-4026 can be screen printed or dispensed into a variety of shapes. The dispensable pad is formulated to replace traditional fabricated pads and is capable of printing smaller shapes and sizes.
Dow Corning TC-4026 Dispensable Thermal Pad is supplied as two-part liquid component kits. Once mixed together thoroughly, it cures into a blue flexible elastomer suitable to protect electronics. Viscosity is 70,000 Cp and specific gravity of the cured material is 2.8 gm-cm³. Cure time is approximately 24 hours at room temperature and working time is 4 hours. Product can be heat cured to speed up the process. At 40°C cure time is 145 minutes, at 100°C, cure time is 15 minutes. TC-4026 requires no post-cure and can be placed in service right away at operating temperatures of -45 to 200°C. Tensile strength is 24 psi, elongation is 200% and dielectric strength is 451 volts/mil.
Glass beads are added to help control thickness and this product has a lower cost of ownership compared to fabricated pads. This material is designed to be applied by various methods including screen printing, stencil printing and automated dispensing. Dispensable thermal pads exhibit minor polymer separation during transportation. Recommendations for re-homogenization can be found in the application guides. Cure reaction begins with the mixing process. Increase in viscosity followed by gelation is will be an obvious indication of the material curing. Dow Corning TC-4026 Dispensable thermal pad is resistant to minimal solvent exposure. It is recommended to avoid solvent exposure altogether. This product is neither tested nor deemed suitable for medical and pharmaceutical uses.
