Dow Corning CI-2001 is single component, highly reflective optical coating for enhancing light output and efficiency with good resistance to environmental aging. The advance product will cure at room temperature into a tough, resilient and non-tacky surface. Main applications include coating for light reflectors, mixing chambers, backlight units, PCB and A1 surfaces used in the assembly of LED lamp luminaries. The composition of the material is a silicone solvent-borne resin in reduced solvent. This product is UL flammability rating recognized.
Dow Corning CI-2001 White Reflective Coating has a 94% reflectance at 3mill and 96% at 5mil. Viscosity of the cured material is 1500 cP and specific gravity is 1.14. The reflective coating will have a tack-free time of 10 minutes at 25°C and 2 minutes at 60°C with 15% relative humidity. Low viscosity of the silicone will enhance flow and fills in narrow gaps and spaces. Dielectric strength is 620 volts/mil and the volume resistivity is 1.0E+15 ohm*cm. Dielectric constant at 100 Hz is 3.86 and the dissipation factor at 100 Hz is 0.004. NVC forced draft volatility is 45%.

The product is formulated to coat various substrates or printed circuit boards to provide protection and a high reflective surface. Dow Corning CI-2001 can be applied by spray, brush, flow or automated pattern coating. Operating temperatures are between -45 to 200°C for long periods of time. Anything above or below the temperatures may alter the performance of the material. Adhesion will typically lag behind cure and may take up to 48 hours to build. Dow Corning CI-2001 is formulated to provide adhesion to most common electronic substrates. Certain low energy surfaces may need a primer to improve adhesion.
Material should not be handled until the Dow Corning CI-2001 MSDS is fully read and understood. Special precautions need to be taken to prevent moisture from coming in contact with the product. Containers need to be kept tightly sealed and head or air space minimized. Shelf life will be clearly stated on the label.
